My Story

What should you know about me?

I am a life long fan of The Wizard of Oz and I have officially been Auntie Em for seven years this August.  I love to take pictures and currently have nearly 4000 photos on my iPhone and at least that many on my poor old laptop along with countless on memory cards in my camera.  I love to cook and can typically be found in the kitchen with my children helping me make everything from fresh pasta to gumbo. Thanks to Pinterest  I have finally figured out how to make chocolate chip cookies that are chewy and delicious.  I have learned how to crochet in the last few years and typically have a project close at hand.

I was born in Phoenix and raised between Gilbert, Arizona and Hyrum, Utah with a year long hiatus in Salem, Idaho (just outside of Rexburg.)  I am number two of four children. I have an older brother, a younger sister and younger brother.  My parents have been married for thirty three years this June.  I graduated from Mountain Crest High School in 2002 and immediately began my higher education at Utah State University. I am currently two classes away from my degree in History and Political Science. Only two classes?! Why not just finish?!  Money and time, seems simple enough. I will finish when  I have the money to do so and the time. I have since starting my degree been married twice had two children am currently pregnant with my third and have been through a nasty divorce.  Luckily, being  a wife and mother has been my fulltime job for the last three years and I couldn't imagine anything I would rather do.

However on March 10, 2013 my job changed. My husband Chase unexpectedly passed away, due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication he was on, at the age of 29. Its been devastating loosing my children's father, best friend, and near constant companion.  It has been an earth shattering life changer.   I am the first to admit that we did not have a perfect relationship. Yet, we had a relationship that meant the world to us. We both always said that no matter what, as long as we were together we could make it through almost anything and up until then, we had.

This is the blog I started about this new life that my little family is adjusting to, one without the loving husband and father. One that will be growing in the next few months.  There will be posts about happy things and things that break my heart but hopefully as time goes on there will be posts about healing and coming to terms with our loss.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will respond as quickly as I can.
